New Around Here
I have a rt-ac86u router. I flashed the stable merlin. Router was working fine. Then I logged in to change the dns server to cloud flare 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1. I clicked apply. Now when I try to login it cant find my router. My internet works fine though. Any idea what I could have clicked by mistake to cause this?

Do any of these work?

http://192.168.1.1/
https://192.168.1.1:8443/
http://router.asus.com/

What URL do you usually use to access the router?

If you run ipconfig /all from a Windows Command Prompt, what is your Default Gateway and DNS Servers?

I suspect your changes went into the LAN DHCP tab, and now you can’t find your way back to router.asus.com. But need some basic info from the command above to understand the lay of the land.

Ok will do. I'm at work. So when I get home I will get this information

in the past, have you been also accessing your router from work / from the WAN?

Try that second option too

Assuming your router is the DHCP server on the lan:

Run ipconfig on any of your lan computers. Make note of the gateway ip

Log into the router via the ip (always).

I looked at his recent posts here, assumed he was trying from the WAN.

Then, thought about this issue as it happened to me with similiar symptoms trying from the LAN (http):

Sounds like httpd crashed try this next time from a ssh connection:
Code:
service restart_httpd

This sounds on the money, clients are likely going straight to cloudflare DNS which will break router.asus.com

The correct way to change DNS is in the WAN section
