Another guess.....the latest levels also store client list data in jffs....does the following give any output?
cat /jffs/nmp_client_list
There isn't a gui switch to disable jffs anymore (it MUST be enabled for the router to work on the recent levels). How/why did you disable it? If you didn't disable it on purpose, select the Format at next boot option, hit Apply, then reboot at least twice.Negative. It says no such file or directory. However, JFFS isn't enabled on the router.

nvram set jffs2_enable=1
nvram set jffs2_format=1
nvram unset jffs2_size
nvram commit
reboot
I never touched jffs since I've had the router. There is an off/on switch for it. I turned it on, set the format on reboot. Rebooted it twice and turned off the format on reboot switch.
Ran the above command and still go the same. Is there another step I need to take for the router to take advantage of this partition?
Edit:
I ran these commands that Merlin had posted, but jffs still shows as Unmounted.
Code:nvram set jffs2_enable=1 nvram set jffs2_format=1 nvram unset jffs2_size nvram commit reboot
It seems the issue might be with the AC66U having problems formation the jffs partition.
I found this thread covering that. It might be time to update my router (not that I want to).
I've done the full factory resets several times with minimal configs and all devices disconnected with no luck already.
Just to be sure (it is the JFFS partion), have you performed the full factory resets along with the NVRAM clearing together (in order)?
You shouldn't have to 'turn off the format on reboot switch' option, after a reboot.
I would suggest you do a complete reset to factory defaults by following the links below.

Did you try the mtd-erase command Merlin suggested in the thread you found?
@RT-AC66U-6170:/tmp/home/root# mtd-erase -d jffs2
Error erasing MTD
