Compatibility Findings with AddOns with GT-BE98 Pro

Chances of routers being released later this year having Merlin firmware at launch or soon thereafter are slim to none.

ASUS Unveils Cutting-Edge AI Router, Networking Solutions at CES 2025
I figure that and even if (the big IF) Asuswrt-Merlin firmware would be coming for these new routers it would be another few years for them to be available. That is why I was hoping for those who have these new routers available now would be able to test these other add-ons for those that don't. But I do understand if you don't. There's no need to test for features folks don't use or need. I appreciate the information and thank you for all you do!

I'm pretty sure VPNMON-R3 works. I believe @Ripshod is running it. I don't know about TAILMON or KILLMON.

I am running it and it is absolutely fine. I moved to Nord VPN and had some random reboots so I removed it for a while, but this reset was not caused by vpnmon. So add it to the list 👍

Done!

So really. We only have a handful of add-ons we just don't have info on. Ideally the devs might have some ideas of users testing on 3006.

If anyone feels the desire to help complete the list by testing unknown add-ons. Feel free to report back here! :)

Maybe @thelonelycoder would know more considering he's the guardian of AMTM.

@Marchcat2008

You literally made me think I said that at some point by the quoted reply; confused me since I've never installed TAILMON before hahaha
Adding it to the list! Thanks for confirming!

Hi Viktor, I’m just waiting for @Tech9 to send me a few free 3006 Wi-Fi 7 Routers, maybe a RT-BE86U and a few others and I will get busy testing TAILMON for you … :D

You may have to wait for Wi-Fi 7 routers from @Tech9... for testing TAILMON on future 3010 firmware. At the moment I'm expecting to see some volume of particular model in your signature, have a few spiders from the same generation put aside.

WAT!!! @Tech9 LITERALLY told me the same exact thing! Waitaminute... you're just trying to expand your Tailnet, aren't you! :)

Haha caught me, Tailmon world domination, bwahahahahahaha ....

Just a couple of corrections:

1) There is no 'develop' branch for scMerlin hosted by @thelonelycoder. The latest master branch version v2.5.10 will do just fine.

2) For 3006.102.x F/W, you need the latest 'develop' branch versions of Scribe (v3.2.1) and uiScribe (v1.4.6).

UPDATE:
Actually, for Scribe there is no 'develop' branch. The fixes for 3006.102.x F/W are currently still pending on PR #47 in the GitHub repository. See the following post for details to download the modified script:

BTW, is @cmkelley, aka @cynicastic on GitHub, still around these forums?
AFAICT, the last activity from @cmkelly on his Scribe repository was on June 2023, and it’s been completely quiet since then. Also on these forums, I have not seen any recent posts from him. Perhaps he’s just really busy with work, family, and other personal stuff that takes top priority over anything else. I hope he's doing well.

Oh my; your totally right I just checked!
Corrected buddy!

I'll also added a new quick note about uiScribe!
Thanks for the update!

If someone wants to install and report back it would be appreciated... but I added [ "$(F_nvram firmver)" = '3.0.0.6' ] && return 0 in the compatibility check a few months back from a Github request for a user running a GT-BE98Pro, so my assumption is at least one person would have tried and notified me here/Github if there was issues.

I was hoping you would know a user testing, but honestly if you don't know of any active users that's no problem! I have a dynamic address from home which changes pretty much everytime the 98 Pro reboots.

I've just been avoiding taking my network down to test this. But I can do that shortly if you'd like validation, and report back.

Installation, configuration, and test e-mails work flawlessly on GT-BE9e Pro.
