Connect 2-bay NAS to smart tv over USB

Let's say I have a 2-bay NAS with 2 hard disks, no RAID.

It would be connected to my router over ethernet cable.

But it would be connect to my Samsung smart tv over USB, too.

I'm guessing the TV will recognize the 2 drives so the contents of both drives would be visible.

Is there any way to put audio and video on one drive and then make the other drive invisible or inaccessible from the Samsung TV?

Why?

I would like to use the other drive for backups (documents, no audio nor video) and I don't want anyone having access to the TV to see my backups.

The USB ports on a NAS are for devices that connect to it, not the other way around. The connectors will not even be the right type to connect them together. even if you did source a dual ended cable, your TV would see nothing. Hopefully your smart TV has networking, so you can just access the NAS over network, as it was designed.

Thank you, mervincm, that slipped my mind.

Unfortunately it doesn't. I guess I'll just stick to my external hard disk. :)

I have never tried one, but I wonder if one of those wireless HDD might work for you? Maybe it has a USB connection that will allow your TV to load media from it, and maybe you can you can use the wireless network to maintain the content remotely?
