I have OpenVPN server enabled and working with Asus-Merlin. I also have OpenVPN client configured to work with my choice of a VPN provider.

Now I want to be able to connect to my home network from work thru OpenVPN server, but I also want the traffic to exit thru the OpenVPN client that's using the third party VPN provider.

Today when my work machine connects to my home VPN server, the public IP will show up as my home ISP IP.

Is this possible? I think it should be. But I'm not sure how to do this.

Double-OpenVPN is the new double NAT?

Why not connect work machine to VPN provider since it would be much simplier!?

Haha! I'm not a big fan of nested NATs or VPNs for that matter. Though "Double Hop" is a recommended way for VPN for added security.

My problem is very weird. When I sit in my daughter's school while she is on a game, I connect to the school's WiFi. But I noticed recently they have started blocking VPNs. I haven't spoken to the IT guys yet. But I'm not sure what the reason is. Maybe they don't want students using VPN and hide the real traffic. Could be a good thing for the school. So I have no intention of challenging this. In fact, they don't even allow to hit the "VPN provider's" home page, let alone the tunnel!!!

Now my issue is I don't want my traffic going over non-VPN :) So the only way I'm able to beat this is by connecting to my home VPN server. But now this traffic from the school to home is protected, but from home to outside world is open.

Your VPN provider may offer different ports for the connection (such as port 80). I'd check with them, as this is a pretty common way to get around an issue such as this.

I have tried that as the first step. In fact, I even tried my friend's VPN provider for kicks, they seem to be blocking all known (at least popular) vendors.
