New Around Here
Hi,
This forum and the web around it do offer great help and information regarding
NAS available solutions. However most of them are discussing those topics at technical level.
While looking for a NAS for our small LAN however we are defining/raising our requirements at the user level, non-it-freaks level, far away from all these technical details - just the functional view.

What will be the best platform to ask our high-level questions regarding
best choice of NAS for our needs?
Will this community be patient to listen and possibly to answer such?

My recommendation is Synology or QNAP. Many of us have Synology and are happy. Me included.
I give a lot of weight to the goodness of the NAS software and not quibbling over a few MIPS or MB/s.

As for me the short duration of backup process is one of most
important criteria. High productivity while using the system,
good energy efficiency.

Hi,
Not heard what OP is doing mostly and is it home or SOHO or business environment?
Back up strategy has been discussed many times over here there are lot of past topics available.
