Yes. It should work. I tried USB hub (active) with USB stick and USB HDD.

You likely need a hub with power as Voxel suggests

Thank you both. I have no idea if disabling the USB port was a deliberate choice by Netgear or something accidental.
USB access is sort of essential to Voxel firmware, so I have no idea if this rules out adopting a later firmware base or if it can be overcome.

After days of testing , exchanging my previous ethernet cable with the cable that came with the Orbi, I can say Voxel firmware is extremely solid and stable. Not 1 disconnection. The only issue i faced was the speed throughput was halved which an Orbi restart fixed. I don't think this has to do with Voxel but more with Netgear's firmware.
