Hello all
Out of curiosity, how does the R9000 fare compared to the R7800? Is it as stable? How's the WiFi?
Just checking, I'm having some weird problems with my 5GHz WiFi dropping for no reason with my R7800. Dunno if it's a problem with nvram, but if it is, then a change might be needed. And I would prefer getting a router with Mr Voxel's firmware :)
Thanx for your comments :)

I don't have a r7800 so can't compare the two, but no WiFi problems with my r9000 in the two years I've owned it. I've had Voxel's firmware installed since the first hour I got it and have never looked back. Very stable.

FYI
The kamoj addon has a function for WiFi supervision (including an automatic WiFi restart) if/when it fails.

Hello Mr Kamoj :)

This function is only for the R9000? Or is it also available for the R7800?
Yes, it's there for the R7800 as well.

For me it kicks in very seldom, maybe once every month or so,
and I wouldn't notice unless I looked in the log.
The log provides some extended information about why the connection failed as well.
Might be good for further problem solving.

Is this this option we're talking about?
Restart traffic-less WiFi. ⚠ Warning: Restarts both Radios if activity cease on any channel. Use with caution ⚠

Does this mean that the router would "see" that the WiFi is down and then restart it automatically? Should I activate that function?

When you're talking about the log, you mean dmesg? Or the very complete logs that I did see under Kamoj Menu / System Information / WiFi 5GHz ?

Sorry if my questions sound dumb :(

Its' ok!
No, that one is NOT to recommend (as the Warning implies).
The correct one is : Supervise WiFi radios.
The log is in System Information, Supervision.

Hello again

I think I asked the wrong question. You said there is a quick restart when it fails. I thought there was an option to restart the WiFi 5GHz somewhere in your add-on, that would prevent me to have to reboot the router to get the 5GHz back.
If I look at the Supervision tab, I have this :
7800 WiFi Kamoj.jpg

So I can monitor what's going on with the WiFi.

But just to make sure, there is no option to restart the 5GHz (or the 2.4GHz) if it fails? If there is, could you show me a screenshot?

Thanx a lot :)

Just also be sure to enable the main switch "SUPERVISION: Supervision On" and you will have the supervision including both logs and automatic restart of wifi if needed.
Please report back here to community your findings!
