Running into issues with my DDNS setup. Worked well until yesterday where resolution just seems to have stopped working properly. I suspect that this is probably an issue with Afraid.org's nameservers, so I reached out to them for some help. But posting router log here in case anyone else had some insight.

Code:
Dec 31 17:01:30 custom_script: Running /jffs/scripts/service-event (args: restart ddns)
Dec 31 17:01:30 start_ddns: update FREEDNS.AFRAID.ORG default@freedns.afraid.org, wan_unit 0
Dec 31 17:01:30 custom_script: Running /jffs/scripts/service-event-end (args: restart ddns)
Dec 31 17:01:30 inadyn[13533]: In-a-dyn version 2.8.1 -- Dynamic DNS update client.
Dec 31 17:01:30 inadyn[13533]: Failed resolving hostname subdomain.domain.org: Name or service not known
Dec 31 17:01:31 inadyn[13533]: Update forced for alias subdomain.domain.org, new IP# XXX.XX.XX.XXX
Dec 31 17:01:32 inadyn[13533]: Remove old cache file /var/cache/inadyn for subdomain.domain.org
Dec 31 17:01:32 inadyn[13533]: Updating cache for subdomain.domain.org

When I run nslookup I get the following:
Code:
*** DNS can't find domain.org: Non-existent domain

Maybe dosborne's work-around could get around the problem? It helped me get past two different DDNS issues. It might do the same for you, since no lookups are required.

Thanks for the help.

Turns out the registration lapsed for the public domain I was using from afraid.org. I switched to one of Josh's (afraid.org owner) public domains and the problem was resolved.
