Wrote to Engeniustech.com to ask what type of Antennas are used with the ESR9850, thinking they were a type of dipole and thus directional depending on the orientation horizontal/vertical and placement to each other, and since I have found the units work differently under different setups.

The 2 dbi antennas that come with the unit are not a dipole antennas so its lope is more isotopic then a dipole antenna would be and it’s ~2dbi so it’s more in line with the definition of isotropic antenna, because as your gain increases it becomes less isotropic.
