DHCP disappearing

I've just received an RT-AC68U router and immediately uploaded Merlin's latest firmware and did a reset.

I have 16 devices I'm trying to load into the DHCP and on my first attempt I loaded all 16 then hit apply. When the page refreshed it was as if it didn't accept any of them.

I then started over and only loaded one device and tried to click on the plus symbol to add it to the system and then I was going to hit apply and do each one this way however I could no longer click on the plus sign. Also theres a drop down box for mac addresses that would no longer click to open.

I have a 2012 iMac so this was initially done in Safari. My next step was to try this in Chrome which netted me the same result, I could no longer add a device. I should also note at this point when I go to the DHCP screen it doesn't load the navigation menu to the left in any browser I have and that goes for Firefox which was my last browser I attempted this with and netted the same results again.

I power cycled both my mac and my router and still couldn't add a device and still didn't load the navigation when on the DHCP page. I then held the reset button on the router and set it up again and I was able to once again add devices which i did one by one by clicking on the plus symbol and then clicking apply on each one. Then I got to about my seventh device and when the page refreshed it showed nothing there as if I hadn't added anything and refreshing the page did not correct this.

Am I missing something here? I haven't set up anything on the router except the SSID and the passkey for the WIFI prior to attempting to assign IP's.

Any help is appreciated.

Edit: Also mention that I typically copy and paste info from a notepad but have even manually typed in the IP, Device Name, and Mac address and still couldn't click on the plus sign to add a device.

Is "Enable Manual Assignment" set to Yes?
Also, do you see your entries reflected in /tmp/etc/hosts.dnsmasq?

Enable Manual assignment is set to yes and I'm really a novice here and feel kinda stupid for saying but I'm not sure where to check for the entires you mentioned.

you need to telnet or ssh into your router.
Search for it in this forum, there are several posts explaining how and what software to use.
It would just be an confirmation of what strange behaviour you have with your router. So, it's not really necessary.

So I tried using cyberduck and to SSH into my router after enabling SSH in router settings but kept receiving error SSH_FXP_INIT.

So I did a search and attempted this with Terminal and logged into my router and went to: cd /tmp/etc/

and then tried:
"open hosts.dnsmasq"
"open hosts"

and nothing could be found. Spent around 2 hours thus far on this.

Edit:
here are my settings in my router
Enable Telnet : Yes
Enable SSH : Yes
Allow SSH Port Forwarding : No
SSH service port : 22
Allow SSH access from WAN : No
Allow SSH password login : Yes
Enable SSH Brute Force Protection : No
SSH Authentication key : Empty

2nd Edit:
I was using aphostrophies in my device name so IDK if that caused the issue or not however I FINALLY was able to SSH into my router by buying Parallels and using Winscp as I couldn't get cyberduck or Filezilla to work on the Mac and there honestly wasn't any guides for those that I could find that would actually let me connect. I found the hosts file and a separate file for dnsmasq but never seen hosts.dnsmasq all the info that was listed was available within the router GUI.

Frustated I did another rest because I've spent over four hours on this and what do you know? it let me finish setting up my DHCP with zero issues....
