hi guys,

i've got this plaguing disconnection issue on my N66U for a while.
every few hours, the connection would drop and i've got to wait for a few minutes before it gets reconnect back to my isp.

i have tried the latest 374.41 and it is still the same.
right now i am running 374.40
i tried troubleshooting with upnp, hw acceleration turned off but to no avail.

I'm running a 1gbps connection if that matters

below is a fresh log starting from the disconnection at 15:47:31
any ideas what is causing it?

update: i added another log of which is right after reboot and gotten an ip

Hi,

Did you check if the cable to the Modem/ISP is at least CAT5e or higher standard?
Then N66U is very sensitive to cabeling!

All cables connected to the router have to be CAT5e (or better) to ensure stable operation.

If this does not help, you should do the standard fault analyze:
- Load the latest firmware
- Do a factory reset
- Enter the absolut minimum configuration
- Check for the error (wait and see!)
- Do more configuration (if no error)
- Check for the error (wait and see!)
- etc.

In case of error comes again:
Report the error and the configuration here!

With kind regards
Joe

hi joegreat, thanks for replying.
i'm using cat6 cables for all the connections
i'll probably try repluggin every connections and have a look,

did u have a look at the logs?
are there anything not unusual?

That line:

Code:
May 2 15:47:31 WAN Connection: Ethernet link down.

means that either your modem is crashing and rebooting (not your router), or you have a cable problem between the modem and the router.

Thank you sire! I will replace the cable then monitor more!!
Thanks again.
