DLNA server not recognized FW Version 378.53 or 378.52

I am unable to detect the DLNA server with the latest 378.53 Merlin Firmware, or 378.52 before that (That's why I updated to latest firmware). I have tried a factory reset, various "solutions" I found on this forum, rebooting, stopping and restarting the dlna server, all without result. The problem exists whether using an android device or a dlna client in linux. The latter does recognize a device, but is unable to browse it at all. Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot this problem? I am able to browse samba shares without difficulty. Most settings on the are left at installation defaults (I am not too technical! )

Well, it seems "waiting list therapy" works. In the absence of any reply I have 'solved' the problem. I unmounted the usb disk from router, attached to a windows machine which immediately wanted to run a disk check. Found a few problems. Then copied all music onto a flash drive from usb disk and mounted on router. Minidlna detected music as normal this time. Then returned the original usb disk to the router and voila! immediately minidlna began redoing the database. All now works as expected. Don't really know what was wrong, but possibly the disk errors detected in windows check?
