Hello,

QUESTIONS:
-----------------

01 WithOUT using DoT on my RT-AX86U_Pro router do the results in the "Quad9_Protocol_n_Redirection_Checks_NoDoT.jpeg" image below indicate that my DNS queries are being hijacked per Quad 9's support page per "https://docs.quad9.net/FAQs/#my-isp-is-transparently-redirecting-dns-now-what" webpage which is not explicit as to what the results should be?

02 WHEN using DoT on my RT-AX86U_Pro router do the results indicate in the "Quad9_Protocol_n_Redirection_Checks_withDoT.jpeg" image below that my DoT encrypted DNS queries are preventing the "hijacking" of my DNS queries which is not explicitly explained by Quad 9 at the URL of "https://docs.quad9.net/FAQs/#my-isp-is-transparently-redirecting-dns-now-what" as to what the results should be?

I appologize if this has already been answered. I did do a search before posting on "Quad 9", and found a lot of results. I also did a search on "dns hijack" and found this thread at "https://www.snbforums.com/threads/w...ing-it-you-should-be.79197/page-3#post-766841" which I didn't see a spcific answer to my questions below which pertain to Quad 9's FAQ on DNS Hijacks.

I know security on the Internet is relative. However if you can improve your hardware and software to reduce your risk, then IMHO you're in a better place.

If you care to see images of my RT-AX86U_Pro router's firmware configuration which were used to obtain the results in the 2 images referenced above, then I'd be glad to post them.

Not being a network expert I'd appreciate your expertise to the above questions.

Thank You!

The first results are fine, suggesting you live in proximity to Minneapolis (MSP).

For the second DoT test, do you have any DNS Director settings enabled on the router?

Hello,

Yes I did.

I've re-configured the RT-AX86 U Pro's firmware without the DNS Director, and Q9 tests from Powershell appear to have similar results of the MSP's do53-udp only with dot.

Thanks!
