DNS Relay RT-AC66R with Merlin 378.52_2

Now that the new firmware allows you to pass DNS IP's directly to the local clients, my question is should I? Does this router do local caching of DNS requests that would speed up look ups, or is it just passing requests thru?

Unless it local caches it seems I am relying on the local clients internal caching either way and using the pass through would speed up requests to new sites.

Your thoughts?

Thx.

Using the router ensures that you will also be able to resolve your LAN device's hostnames, so it's usually a good idea to still use the router as your nameserver.
