The following appears every 65 seconds in my router system log...

Jul 7 15:16:18 dnsmasq-dhcp[587]: DHCPINFORM(br0) 192.168.1.50 90:e6:ba:c8:eb:50
Jul 7 15:16:18 dnsmasq-dhcp[587]: DHCPACK(br0) 192.168.1.50 90:e6:ba:c8:eb:50 HOUSE-PCW7

This refers to one of the desktop computers on mt LAN. A second Desktop computer does not do this except for once at initial startup.

The computer in question has a wired connection to the router and runs Windows 7.

What is causing this? The network runs well otherwise.

Yes but how do I stop it? It is clogging up my router system log file.
It is happeneing even though there is no web browser running on the computer and in any case the browser is set to not use a proxy server.

I'm not sure, I gave up trying to get rid of it...

Some people seem to have success by disabling proxy discovery, but others say it doesn't help.

By a process of elimination, using System Configuration, I have just narrowed down the cause in my case to a service called Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service. I have temporarily disabled this service using System Configuration until I can find a more legitimate fix.
