New Around Here
Hi there

I am a newbie to NAS. I have 2 PCs (1 laptop of Xp and using wireless N and 1 PC running Vista and it is hard wired to my NETGEAR WNR854T RangeMax Next 802.11n Wireless-N Router (with Gigabit Lan).

If I am planning to get a QNAP TS-209 II, can I just connect my New NAS to one of the Gigabit port of my Netgear Wireless router and then I connect my PC Gigabit Lan card to one of the spare Gigabit Lan port of my Wireless router to transfer files internally using hard wired Gigabit Lan network ? If this is not the correct set up, may I know do I need to buy a new Gigabit switch to achieve the same results ?

A gigabit router has a gigabit switch built in, so you can just connect to that, and don't have to get a separate switch unless you have special needs -- e.g. additional ports, or special features not available on the built-in switch.
