Hi,
this is my first post on this site.
I have a small home office setup which has 1 adsl2+ router with fast ethernet ports and 2 gigabit switches. which connect to about 10 computers and a Nas.
all the computers ( with gigabit cards) are connected via the switches and the router which has Fast ethernet support is connected to one of the switches.
The router also has the dhcp server running and provides ips to all the computers on the network.
now for the question. if i am doing a transfer from one computer to another( Intranet file transfers) Do i get gigabit speed even if the Dhcp server is on the router which is Fast ethernet only???
now in an intranet file transfer the router is not actually used (it only provides the ip addresses)
this question is really irritating me and none of the IT gurus here are able to help me with this..
HELP??????????????????
