I am new to ASUS equipment and installed an N56u about 4 weeks ago.. I just noticed that under firewall the Dos option is set to disable... that should be set to enable right?

Up to you. All it does is throttle the rate at which it will reply some ICMP messages. This might add a slight decrease in maximum throughput however.

Personally I don't use it. If someone were to DDoS me, that simple throttle won't be of much help when targeted by gigabits of traffic.

Thank you for your quick and comprehensive reply...I will leave it disabled
