I know this is probably a simple question if I'd just think hard enough about it, but is there an advantage to having my DSL login via my router with the modem as a bridge?

I'm pondering some network changes over the next few months, and unless there's a compelling reason to log in via the router I was considering putting the login info back in the modem and just letting the router work like it did when I was on cable.

Thanks for the advice.
