Error when upgrading firmware : RT-AC66U

This operation works, as this is what I have to do to "repair" the router after trying to upgrade the firmware.

However, this operation resets the router to the factory firmware right?

So the problem still exists...

Resetting the router should bring it back to factory default and makes it accessible. If you still cant get to GUI then your router is dead.

Thank you for all your suggestions, unfortunately, none of them worked.

However, I managed to get the router into recovery mode (power led slowly blinking), and used the firmware restoration utility to upload Merlins newest version into the router. The upload was successful, and the power led is now blinking rapidly. I got a message from the firmware restoration utility saying I have to wait for the system to reboot.

But, after waiting "forever", the power led is still blinking rapidly, and I cannot acces the router UI through 192.168.1.1.

Anyone got any suggestions for this new problem?

Try waiting for an hour. Patience.

Well, I called Asus support and they replaced the router with a brand new one, for free.

The new one is working perfectly, and I got Merlins latest 374.41 build running on it now.

Thank you for all help and suggestions.
