Ethtool in firmware

Hi,

According changelog, fw 3004.388.6 (20-Jan-2024) added ethtool to the firmware.
Does this mean it's not necessary anymore to mount a stick / add entware / opkg install ethtool?

I want to disable TCP segmentation offload on bridge interface (I have an use case similar to what @ColinTaylor posted here).

Thank you, Colin.
You mentioned that disabling the TCP segmentation offload increases the load on the router’s processor. In your experience, is this noticeable on:
1. LAN - LAN transfers ? (like copying files from PC to NAS)
2. WAN - LAN / LAN - WAN transfers ? (like torrents)

I do not see any appreciable load on the router for LAN to LAN or WAN to LAN transfers. But I do have hardware acceleration enabled on the router, so that might change if it were disabled by using QoS or VPN. I haven't tested that.

Note that this is for my RT-AX86U with its specific hardware revision. Other models may behave differently.
