As many know, I have been a strong opponent of things like LTE-Unlicesed Access and Multifire in the 5GHz bands, along with LTE/5G over in the GPS guardbands (Lightsquared/Ligado)...
I'd like to think that the US FCC is not political, but unfortunately over the last 8 years or so, it has become political with quid pro quo...
The ISM bands have been reserved for services other that Telecom (they have their own bands/channels/frequencies) walled garden...
Just for a refresher- current global ISM bands - sometimes we refer to them as UNII, but it's basically the same thing.
