I am using entware-ng installed via instructions from the wiki:
https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin/wiki/Entware
I have installed libffmpegthumbnailer but I get the sh error when using ffmpegthumbnailer to generate thumbnails for DLNA. There is no binary for ffmpegthumbnailer nor is there one to install via opkg. I did install ffmpeg commandline utility and it appears it can create thumbnails but ffmpegthumbnailer is supposed to be a lightweight package for doing what I want and fast. Does ffmpeg create thumbnails on its own or is it leveraging libffmpegthumbnailer to do this? If ffmpegthumbnailer is faster why doesn't it exist or if ffmpeg does not leverage libffmpegthumbnailer for making thumbnails then what is the purpose of having libffmpegthumbnailer available when it the corresponding commandline utility is unavailable for install.
It ends up being a package I now have to cleanup because it is literally completely useless and just taking up space. Yes, it doesn't take much space but I am somewhat anal about having stuff on there that serves no purpose so if the libffmpegthumbnailer package does nothing I don't want it. It installed a bunch of dependencies as well though. Kind of annoying having to clean all this up now because there is a library without a corresponding utility to use it making the library itself worthless.
Help me out here, do I need to keep libffmpegthumbnailer and do I need to find ffmpegthumbnailer somehwere, if so where? Does ffmpeg do the same thing and is it just as fast or is the former utility the way to go and if so again where do I find the package to install it.
