I'm looking for a link to download the latest firmware for an ASUS RT-AC68 from RMerlin but am not able to find a link that works.

Through a Google search I found the ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.374.4561 is out thread but the link doesn't work.

Could this be because ASUS' official firmware has caught up and is the most current or am I just missing something?

Are you looking for the original Asus firmware, or my modified firmware?

Asus firmwares can be found here:

Thank you for the links. I have successfully downloaded and updated my router with your latest firmware and am happy to report that everything appears to be working properly.

Would you happen to know if there is a page that lists the performance tuning settings? For example, on several pages that I found, it was noted that setting the 2.4GHz from the standard bonded (20/40MHz) to a single 20MHz channel would improve performance.

I would imagine there are other settings that could be "tweaked" but a Google search for "asus rt-ac68 performance tuning settings" did not return much but I am still working through the results.

I'm looking the same thing... Please someone help with tweaking suggestion for improve performance of rt-ac68u with latest Merlin fw!

The default settings work best for the majority of people. Obviously, Asus didn't chose the default values randomly, but they went with what works best for the majority of cases.

Every environment being different, you will have to test it yourself to determine if any setting change improves things for your particular environment.

The only thing I ever change myself is setting the 2.4 GHz band to 20 MHz, and manually choosing my channels on both bands. Everything else is left to their default values. Maybe that's why I have so few wireless issues compared to some other posters on these forums.
