Good day.

Upgraded my RT-AC66U to 374.42 the other night.

Got some VOIP devices today. Got to mulling on installing a pbx on the Router (considering asterisk since it is reportedly working on an Asus Router with Merlin and Entware installed: here).

Installed Entware (after plugging in a 2G EXT3 thumb-drive). Installed nano and it bombed with some errors. removed it. changed directories (shouldn't matter, right?), reinstalled and it seemed to take.

However, whenever I run nano, I get an error about opening xterm (as reflected in last link above). opkg list-installed - xterm not there. Listed all packages available, xterm not listed.

Any suggestions, folks? Please and Thanks. :D

Had a look at your console session and noticed that you overwrote an existing entware (or optware) installation which resulted in too warnings and some overwrite errors

Code:
Warning: Folder /opt/bin exists!
Warning: If something goes wrong please clean /opt folder and try again.
Warning: Folder /opt/etc exists!
Warning: If something goes wrong please clean /opt folder and try again.
Warning: Folder /opt/include exists!

Warning: Folder /opt/usr exists!

You will need to delete the contents of /opt and install entware again... a successful installation will display no errors/warnings.

Thank you much. Issue resolved. Was hesitant on deleting same, given that there were indeed stuffs therein (I ended up renaming it vs. deleting it... :D).

Hi, I am having another issue with Nano. When I first installed Entware and Nano it was fine. I executed the following directions without any problems:

Include the following lines in firewall-start user script located in /jffs/scripts:

iptables -I INPUT -p tcp --destination-port 51200 -j ACCEPT
iptables -I INPUT -p udp --destination-port 51201 -j ACCEPT

Then entered later:

chmod a+rx /jffs/scripts/*
sh /jffs/scripts/firewall-start

I went back in to review the script and the interface is all wrong - I can't navigate within the interface and there are very few commands at the bottom:

I've rebooted, uninstalled and reinstalled nano and tried to edit a new file and it looks the same. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Windows telnet isn't designed for applications that do advanced cursor management such as nano. Use a real client such as XShell or Putty instead.
