New Around Here
Just sharing my experience updating my router and the easy fix after some troubleshooting.
My RT-AX88U has been on Merlin for a few updates now. Today I went to 3004.388.8_2 and when it rebooted, my connection to my ATT Fiber router was back to a routed IP address (192.168.x.x) instead of the public IP (75.66.x.x). I had setup IP forwarding inside the ATT router (since it does not have bridge mode) and that called for a multiple settings including a static MAC Address. When I looked in the AX88u settings > Wan, the MAC was blank. Once I put back the static IP, then it got the external IP again and things started working again.
This is the first update I had that cleared out the MAC address.
