Hi folks,

After I enabled https access to my RT-AC68U (FW 3.0.0.4.380.68_4) by using all.dnsomatic.com as DDNS provider (masking my real DDNS provider), I get a certificate error every time I like to access the web interface of my router.

How to get rid of that certificate error?
Rebooting the router does not help.

It’s because your DDNS hostname is not a domain on your certificate. Not much you can do about it.

You’d be far better off and more secure creating a VPN and disabling WAN web access.

I created a VPN, but that's for securing remote devices using public WiFi .

Of course I also like to secure remote web access to the Asus web interface.

How other solved that problem when using DNS-O-Matic ?

If you have a VPN already just use it and access LAN side HTTPS and then your certificate error will go away!!

My setup is pretty different (LetsEncrypt set up on a home server as opposed to a router), but I disable http/s WAN access use ssh+tunnel to access the interface remotely.
