alpha 5 installed in ap mode with a factory reset.

5ghz is broken, totally. anything other than the 1st 4 channels results in no radio.

5ghz Regulation modes still broken on your build, it forces 802.11d+h after selecting off.

this works fine in the latest official asus build.

I think again this may be to do with the merlin firmware being tested under the local of merlin and not tested under EU.

I also can't run commands from the tools page.

5ghz can be fixed running the following 2 commands via telnet (as is the case with previous merlin builds)

nvram set wl1_country_code=GB
nvram set regulation_domain_5G=GB
nvram commit
then reboot.

kinda points towards what I have posted on other builds, it isn't tested with the EU build.
Just a guess as last time I asked I never got confirmation?

I thought I read in the change log this version had a fix for the comcast IPv6 neighbor over flow issue but as you can see either I was mistaken or the fix didn't work.

Ok I have been groundhogged just flashed the 41alpha4 so far so good. I love the fact Merlin added the Comcast neighbor over flow issue into this one. I do still see the flashing 5 ghz led but I am sure he did not get around to adding that fix in this alpha build.

What is the Comcast neighbor overflow issue?
 
Guys, this test build was only intended to test the stability issue. As I said, nothing else had been tested after the GPL merge, so there will definitely be things that aren't working properly yet.

This also gives you an idea on how much work can be involved whenever merging a new Asus GPL...

it's not broken, it's a requirement for the EU region since the addition of DFS support. Asus is hardcoding it to be enabled for anyone in the EU region. I'm simply preventing it from being disabled when in the EU region.

Unlikely since this option doesn't even appear on the webui on the official build.

Quite frankly, a lot of things are broken when using Microsoft Internet Explorer 11. Seen a few routers and NASes from other manufacturers that are also unmanageable under IE11.

41alpha5 is working fine for 22 hours. The VPN (openvpn) allowed me to access my lan shared storage from remote, not just the router's shared USB drives. I couldn't do that with the .40alpha4 with the same config.

I noticed a lot of this in the system.log: " miniupnpd[865]: sendto(udp): Operation not permitted". What's that?

for some reason chrome wanted to keep showing it, i deleted the cache and the drop down vanished!
 
Video lag

I installed 374.41 alpha4, no logout (10h30min). But there is lag in streaming video, same as 5047. I will be going back to 374.40 alpha4 tomorrow morning. Hope this information help to improve firmware stability.

EDIT:
Lag only on 2,4G , there is no lag on 5G.

Uptime 20h20m, no logout. It seem to be resolved

Seeing the same issue on video streaming using 5047. Saw similar on4887 as reported earlier. Using atv3 5ghz 80mhz low number channels

Ditto my freenas was studdering playing back a 1080p BluRay... Back to 40 alpha 4 no problems

Excited for the new firmware, as 40 b3 definitely had me rebooting. Hopefully the final product adds in Asus' IPTV fixes (whatever they are) so that us Fibe users can get our non-functional LAN ports back!

Until then, .39 for me.
