Have you tried ssh into router and passing command “hnd-erase nvram” without quotes? Then without doing anything, turn off the router from mains. Keep it off for few seconds and turn it back on. Then do the initial wizard and straight go for firmware update. I did exactly the same for my GT-AX6000 and router is now working great as long as I don’t touch any GUI settings.

And... You didn't leave any usb or external disks attached when you where doing al this right?

No never had a disk plugged there, just one mini hub that was plugged to one of the usb for power, but I tried with that and even without without luck.

Ok,
I vaguely remember something about using the recovery/restore tool in administrator mode under windows, have you tried that?
Run as administrator.
And nothing else plugged in but the power and the Ethernet cable.
Also worth trying to take small steps with the firmware,or try to reinstall the one that is on it now again and then proceed further.
I had something like this going on a few years ago, and some older firmware ,or older rescue tool did the trick

With rescue mode what I found was if you ONLY have 1 thing connected to the router it doesn't matter what the IP is/was.
My PC was getting the 169.xxx IP but it was the only thing connected to the router and rescue mode worked fine.
Problems occurred if I still had the TV connected or the thermostat hub etc

Maybe one day someone would find a solution to fix it and I can still try to resell it…
What would be the price? :D
Im pretty sure it has the same problem, like what the AXE7800, XD4R, and two AX92Us have/had on my desk. The MXIC flash has too many corrupted blocks. GT-AX6000 are using MX30LF2G28AD-TI chips, you can buy it for cheap, and if you have a flash programmer (xGecu T48) with TSOP48 adapter, and an original flash file (the corrupted one still could be readable) you can fix it yourself.

A: old thread
B: I'm handy with a soldering iron but SMTs are beyond my capability or equipment!

Fixing a home router on hardware level rarely justifies the cost, time and efforts.

Yeah, but look at some of the Asus routers, their price is like... insane... AXE series...
And now some EU countries ordered zero E-waste programs, so warranty returns were re-sold for cheap (Be awared, some cheeky gonna sell them as good).

A: Yes, i just bumped into this, while i was looking for possible flash related problems.
B: Check out this guy:
Hes not even using Amtech flux.

Agree the price is perhaps high, but GT-AXE11000 was released in 2021 and some may have remaining warranty. RT-AXE7800 and GT-AXE16000 were released in 2022 and most perhaps are still under warranty. Very few people on the consumer market will open a router with DIY repair intentions and very few repair shops will guarantee repair on a device with no schematics to be found anywhere. It's also one of those devices you need replaced ASAP and no one is going to wait for 2 weeks to get a chip from Alibaba. I did repair some different model routers using donor boards, but as a hobby and for educational purposes only. It does require skills, experience and equipment for some level of success.
