New Around Here
Hi All,

I experienced a very weird issue I am trying to get my head around today.
I have been using this router for a month without issues. However I would like to flash Merlin firmware to utilise SSH and run scripts.
I flashed my GT-AX6000 to Merlin 388.1_0 and this is where my issue started. There was no issue with the flashing to the Merlin firmware, however as soon as Merlin was loaded, the router GUI informs me that my WAN cable is not connected. Nothing was physically changed at this point. I then went ahead and checked my cables and all seem to be in order. I tried both the standard and ROG firmware.
I tried a few reboots and even did a factory hard reset but to no avail. The issue persist.
As a last resort, I reflashed back to Asus latest firmware and the issue is gone.

Anyone have any idea why I am facing this issue?

Thanking you in advance.

Edit: To ensure I am not going against the forum's rules.

Merlin's firmware is no different than stock when it comes to available channels and power output.

Discussions about circumventing the router's regional restrictions for channels and power are against the forum's rules and such threads will be deleted.

Thanks for your reply Colin.
Have eddited my post above to ensure I am not going against forum rules.
I would just like to understand why I could be facing this weird issue and is there a way to troubleshoot so I am able to flash and use Merlin WRT with my GT-AX6000.

Update: Flashing firmware 388.7_0 fixed the issue. Thank you Colin.

However the issue encountered was still a head scratcher.
