I have the GT-AXE11000, previously had the GT-AX11000. I got the AXE11000 for the WiFi 6E. I have a WiFi 6E adapter on my PC. Useless for now. Waiting on the Windows 10, 21H1, to hopefully finally get to see real 6E. If I stand about 6 feet away with my Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra lights up with 6E. 6 feet is not very encouraging.
Regardless, I had a major issue with the AXE11000 today. Got up this morning and none of my 30 or so Wi-fi devices were working. I have the three unit ZenWifi AX Mini AiMesh that was working well before using Dual-band Smart Connect (2.4 GHZ and 5 GHZ). I hope to switch this mesh out to 6E someday.
In any event, all my WiFi devices, including mesh, were dead. After poking around I found the SSID network name had changed from ASUS24 to ASUS_5. And here’s the clincher, all the WiFi WPA Pre-Shared Key passwords had been changed. I changed everything back to my original setup and everything came back on line. I had what I thought was adequate password 16 character, upper, lower cases, etc. Passwords only a couple weeks old. I have the latest AiMesh and router firmware.
My question is, do I have a security breach? Or did the router go crazy with a glitch? I suspect security breach. However, the “May 5” security log, example: “May 5 01:05:10 kernel: Doorbell Post Wakeup register : phy_addr: 0xd0802160, virt_addr: ffffff8002652160” is also router suspicious. I’ve enclosed the log that lists happenings up to when I rebooted and switched back the SSID and passwords. (Notice May 5 change to Mar 20) Sorry for the long entry. Thanks in advance.
