will this be merged into RMerlins main branch or left as a separate fork?
The idea behind Gnuton's fork is to spread the workload between the two of us in terms of supported models. He will always support his own models, while I will support mine. Support isn't just about implementing a new model, that also includes any further maintenance and updates for our respective models, so they will always stay separate, otherwise it would defeat the whole purpose of splitting the workload.

Right but as a be98 owner (not pro) and above all as your fan (I also have a gt ax6000 that has only known your firmware) I add myself to the many who now do not have constant support like the one you offer. The last release of Gnuton if I'm not mistaken dates back to last July. It doesn't seem to me that there is a particular desire for frequent releases.

Explanation why here:

Hi all,

For a Firm Yes/No, Does Merlin support the "non-PRO" version of Asus ROG Rapture GT-BE98 (WIFI 7 ROG BE25000)?

I can see Merlin's supported stable releases (as below) mentioning the PRO version only:

GT-BE98_PRO3006.102.2_23006.102.3_beta1

I only see reference to the GT-BE98_PRO model and I am confused if Merlin's F/W can run on the (none PRO) GT-BE98 version, I'm assuming that there are different model variants to cater for different Global markets, with different Spectrum licensing rules etc.. I am planning on Buying one and I live in the UK

Second "slightly off-topic" question, that kind of answers my above question but none the less I still ask:

I see RMerlin Comment above "The GT-BE98 is supported by Gnuton's fork."
- So I assume that the none pro version is supported, except only under Gnuton's fork? if so, will this be merged into RMerlins main branch or left as a separate fork?

Happy New Year to you all as well
Cheers ;)

I would like to see more updates

I am having a problem at the moment with Wireguard which is running on my GT BE98 (non pro) the wireguard is not following the Director rules and is applying the VPN to all devices. Is this normal or glitch.

I am running Gnuton Alpha.

Explanation why here:

Honestly I prefer Merlin's strategy. No firmware is free from problems, big or small. However, the user can unlock the true potential of their hw. If the official firmware has problems and we install it, I don't see why we shouldn't release custom versions that are clearly beta. In any case, we are beta testers...

It's the nature of alpha firmware. Have you reported this on the relevant thread? Beyond that there's not a lot you can do except wait for the next alpha/beta.
