Hi Guys,

I am having a hard time with the GT-BE98 Pro and before sending it back for replacement/refund I want to see if you guys are able to spot the problem in the log. Router is rebooting by itself out of the blue, and I can't see anything wrong in the log.

Your help and assistance is appreciated.

Thanks

No crashlog after the reboot, so it could be hardware/electrical related.

Thanks for your input. I guess this one will be sent back!

These settings should be enough to log crashlog, right?

Well, I am going to give it a run with the original ASUS firmware and share my comments. Maybe Merlin's still buggy.

So far, no reboot.. yet and it actually detects properly WAN connection either on 10G or 2.5G port, I was having a hard time in Merlin's.

did you reboot after loading Merlin ? Sometimes you get some strange things happen until you reboot , has happened a few times on my router when I forget to reboot

Hi jerry6, I effectively did a reset twice after setting up Merlin's. One through the webui and then with the reset button.

So far system is holding up and working as it should using original firmware.

Well i just bought the thing , I have 30 days to decide once it gets here , I hope Merlin works as I've had a bad time with Asus original FW

I've been running Merlin firmware on GT-BE98 Pro since Merlin first released it. I use 2.5 Gbps WAN port (Spectrum cable, 1 Gbps down /35 Mbps up). I use 10 Gbps LAN ports to connect to (1) 10 Gbps SFP+ on TL-SG3210XHP-M2 switch as well as (2) "local" 10/2.5 Gbps unmanaged switch. No issues with reboots or crashes.

Maybe i got a lemon, but it is working no problem with asus firmware . What hardware revision you have? I got v2.

Hardware rev 2.0.

Nothing to do with my problem. Have you checked with spectrum if symmetrical speeds are available in your area?. I got mine activated like a month ago, upstate NY. No changes in pricing.

Call or chat with'em, I did the latter... I told the guy that I had read in reddit that symmetrical speeds were available near me and that I wanted to see if it was available. He checked and told me, you are available for upgrade at no additional cost, would you like me to do so? of course!, 5 minutes later.. puff 1GB up/down.
