Synology/D-Link/Netgear/Qnap/Patriot, your experience and what buy?

Hello
I want to buy a NAS device to home, prices up to 300€ without HDD, the parameters should be as follows:
-2x (4x) SATA HDD (preferad unlimited capacity)
-separate HDD, example: I put 2x 2TB HDD and I use solo (I am not about safety, but the max storage capacity)

Decide between:

Patriot Valkyrie http://www.patriotmemory.com/products/d ... 26&type=21
D-Link DNS-323 http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=509
Netgear RND2000 http://www.netgear.co.uk/readynasduo.php
Synology DS-210j http://www.synology.com/enu/products/DS210j/spec.php
Synology DS-209 http://www.synology.com/enu/products/DS209/spec.php
QNAP TS-210 http://www.qnap.com/pro_detail_hardware.asp?p_id=135

Your experience of practical use?
Thank you for answers.

I have a ReadyNAS Duo personally, and really like it for basic NAS needs.

Duo CON's:
External power brick
Cannot migrate to newer ReadyNAS units

However, for more advanced business features and RAID5 over 4 drives, I also have a ReadyNAS NVX.

The DNS-323 is pretty decent for the price, also.

DNS-323 CON's:
64MB RAM (ReadyNAS Duo has 256MB)
External power brick (like many 2 drive units)
Only 1 USB port
No S.M.A.R.T. reporting
NOT! hot swap hard drives
1 year warranty

With any of the 2 drive NAS' that I have seen, there is not an upgrade path without a backup and restore of data, if that is in consideration at all.

RNDU4000 (ReadyNAS Ultra4) is a bit outside your price range, but has much faster performance, 4 drive capacity, designed for media sharing.

Best,
Roger.
