Hi All,
Apologies if this has been addressed in other threads before. I am unable to find a solution and it is getting more frequent.
Background:
I have three routers and 1 ISP modem setup.
Purpose is to enhance wireless connection in two different areas which are blocked by awkward walls.
1) ISP Fibre Cable Modem, connected to main router ASUS - AC88U, set fixed IP 192.168.1.1 (DHCP enabled), DHCP range 192.168.1.10 to 192.168.1.254 (to avoid any conflict)
2) 2WIRE (ISP Router), connected (lan to lan), disabled DHCP, set fixed IP 192.168.1.2 - to act as secondary "WAP"
3) Pace (2WIRE) 5012V, connected (lan to lan), disabled DHCP, set fixed IP 192.168.1.3 - to act as secondary "WAP"
However, i am facing issues for the two connected 2Wire routers (wireless signal strength is full in those areas and once connected, there will be issues "no internet connection" for the devices connected. I can get past these by either restarting the Routers, or removing the lan cable and re-attaching to the two 2WIRE routers ("WAP"). But this is not feasible as the issue is getting more and more frequent.
I had tried to troubleshoot in all directions (upgraded firmware (Merlin), disabled QOS, disabled NAT Acceleration) but to no avail. I am stucked and need urgent help.
I had got this ASUS AC88U last weekend (approx. one week's old) and am really disappointed.
Previously - I had my 2WIRE ISP Router as the main Router connected to the modem, and Pace (2WIRE) 5012V set in similar configuration as above, but does not have any of such issues.
The biggest area I am suspecting is that either it is DOUBLE NAT (but using cmd tracert 8.8.8.8 and WAN does not show so. Another area I am suspecting is the NAT Acceleration of CTF could be conflicting with QOS, but QOS is switched off and the problem persist.
Please help. Im at wit's end.
Thanks.
Jevon
