Help? Use Airport Express with AC66U?

Not sure where to post this... Anyway I have AC66U and it's running Merlin 374.39 build. However I went in the loft today and found an Apple Airport Express I was wondering if I can use that to extend that wirelessly without using power line?

At the moment I am using it the power line just curious if it can do wirelessly

I believe it depends on the Model you've got. Newer ones will work.
I have an old one. I had no luck with it. It's still in the "Loft".

you can only extend network created by another apple device such as the airport extreme. other brands wont work. You can only join an existing network. besides extending the network loses you half the bandwidth. google for more detail.

Hmm... I took my way and ignored everybody saying that you need an Apple Extreme for it to work.

I got my apple express to work nicely with my AC66U.

Basically I used 500mb powerline adaptor that I currently have for my skybox then on the Express create a new network and make sure you have same SSID and Password as your main router then make sure wireless is bridge mode off and put the channels on auto and job done power the thing up and good to go. Seriously it's like a 2 minutes job

At the moment it's only giving me 100mb connection because the the Express is not gigabit but it's a reasonable speed no complaints there

Yep, 1st generation.
And of course if you wire it to the Router it will work. That is not what you were asking in your fist post. This apparently will not work.

Yep but if it works wirelessly I will lose bandwidth won't I like half the internet speed. Either way I don't mind at least I know the answer for my first post
