Help with AC66r

hi, i just bought a asus ac66r by exchanging my dlink 868l but thinking i would have a good range and i dont and earlier when i was downloading a torrent usually it downloads fast but with my asus router it took forever, i am new here and newbie and i was trying to call tech support they dont even have a 1800 number which is not convienient but hope someone here can help me. can you please tell me what should i do or try? also on my phone the wifi signal is weak and they advertise upto 160% covergage i dont even get covergae to my garage which is not far from where router is. i called tech support all they could tell me is to return the product? is this a good router? thanks let me know

I love my ac66r. make sure you have the newest fw, and make sure you set the TX power to 100%
