New Around Here
Hi,

I am running torrent downloads and iTunes server. The CPU load average is really high:

Code:
02:42:15 up 10:14, load average: 3.75, 3.14, 1.97

Any insights?

A 600 MHz MIPS CPU (roughly equal to an old Pentium II) and USB disk will do that. Not much you can do short of limiting the number of concurrent peers.

I don't consider 3.75% to be high at all.

Unless î'm missing something and thses numbers don't mean what I think...

It doesn't mean 3.75%.

Load averages do not represent % CPU usage. Instead, they represent the load on the CPU by processes waiting for their chance to use the CPU.

Use the "top" command instead to get more useful information.
