Hi
It is really really easy just follow the steps:
1. Download any SFTP client (e.g filezilla, WinSCP etc. )
2. SFTP into the router using your username and password you.
3. Go to /tmp.
4. Paste your firmware .bin file.
5. SSH into your router.
6. Do cd /tmp
7. Paste this command :
mtd_write -r write <firmware_file_name> Firmware_Stub (make sure to write the full name with extension and not in the arrows.)
8. Now your router will reboot and boom there you go. ENJOY!

Note: use original firmware .bin file first and flash the OpenWRT
from that.

Hi! I see you want to switch from Padavan firmware to OpenWrt for your DIR-853 A3 router. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Preparation: First, make sure you have internet access and can connect to the router via an Ethernet cable. This is important to avoid wireless connection issues during the process.
  2. Download the firmware: Go to the official OpenWrt website and download the appropriate firmware for the DIR-853 A3. Make sure you select the correct version.
  3. Reset settings: Although you’ve already tried resetting the router, make sure you do it properly. Press and hold the reset button on the router for 10-15 seconds while it’s powered on.
  4. Flashing process: Access the configuration interface of the Padavan router, usually at 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. In the firmware section, select the OpenWrt firmware file and follow the on-screen instructions. Do not turn off the router during this process.
  5. Configuring OpenWrt: After the flashing process is complete, the router will reboot. Access the new OpenWrt interface at 192.168.1.1 and set it up as you like.
