How to use ASUS DDNS on ASUS Router

Hi, Guys! Today let’s talk about how to use ASUS DDNS.

DDNS-Dynamic Domain Name System, it’s a method that can help user updating a name server in the DNS (Domain Name System) automatically.


Step1.Make sure your router can get a public IP address first, you can check on the website http://www.speedtest.net or other. If the IP you get on the website is the same as showing on your router’s Network Map, that means you have public IP, else not.


Step2.Go to WAN-DDNS page to enable DDNS client and chose ASUS DDNS service by choose server to WWW.ASUS.COM, fill in a host name what ever you like but easy to remember.


Step3.GUI will show “Registration is successful” after apply OK


Step4.Now you can use ASUS DDNS to login DUT from WAN (needs to enable “allow login from WAN side network” on Administration-system page) or other services.

i wouldnt allow login from wan.
use the vpn section to setup a vpn user.
then connect with vpn into the network and use the internal ip to connect to the router.
