Finally a top level domain to use for your internal network:

Only took them like 20 years. I guess it wasn't a priority like the hundreds of senseless vanity TLDs that got approved these past few years because $$$.

I have always used .test for my local DNS (over 15 years) and see no reason to change.
.test is also less letters to type.
