Online backup vendor, iDrive, just released the One, an 802.11ac-based wireless storage device for home use.
A dual-channel wireless device, the iDrive One is available in either HDD or SSD configurations, and utilizes beamforming to help remotely store files and system backups at speeds up to 1.3 Gbps. The One can also work as a wireless network extender for existing home networks.
Managed via the iDrive One app (available for iOS and Android), the One also uses 256-bit encryption to secure data, and is compatible with Windows and Macs, as well as mobile devices.
Now available on the iDrive website, pricing for the iDrive is as follows: 1 TB HDD – $99.99, 2 TB HDD - $149.99, 128 GB SSD - $99.99 and 256 GB SSD - $149.99. Packaging for each model also includes a year-long subscription to a 1 TB iDrive cloud account and a one-year limited warranty.
