What’s the deal with older Apple iPhone 4s? I thought I read on Apples’ site if you run the new IOS they support WPA2 AES security. When I have my Cisco WAP321 set to WPA2 AES only security I have trouble with iPhone 4s connecting. They seem to connect close but when you are far away they just time out. If I change the WAP321 to WPA AES security then they connect fine. I have tried 2 different iPhone 4s running the latest IOS with exactly the same behavior.

All IOS devices support WPA2/AES for WiFi... even back to the original iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch...

so a couple of things to try:

1) On the WAP321, try temporarily disabling "Detect MAC address"
2) on the iDevices, reset network connections (Settings/General/Reset/Reset Network Settings)

give that a spin...

I know the iPhone4s are supposed to have WPA2 support but there seems to be a problem connecting to the WAP321 using only WPA2. The iPads seems to connect with WPA2 fine. The only issue is the iPhones. I have MAC filtering off. I have tried resetting the wifi on the iPhones. It works fine once I turn WPA on.
