Just to make sure I understand you correctly.....are you saying that with both the 68P and 5300 running 380.63_2, the 68P works with IPv6 and the 5300 doesn't?
Yes that what was I saying Asus 68p works, but not Asus 5300. so it must be the hardware inside routers maybe?

It seems to be that the problem is at Comcast. I have a 5300 under Time warner and have never had a problem with ipv6. I pass both tests, available. I do use a Zoom modem since the Arris was causing me a lot of problems with ipv6. This was 6 months ago before I switched to the Zoom.

Maybe, but why would the 68p work and not 5300, with the same frimware for ipv6.

Different level of SDK is a possibility. But this is the first time that someone narrowed it down to a router model difference on the same firmware. Something we can dig at a bit.

BTW.....did you ever try with HW Acceleration disabled/enabled on the 5300? Same with Smart Connect.

You shouldn't end up with no syslog.....did you try rebooting a second time?
I tried rebooting modem and the router or just modem or just the router. It got to be Asus hardware, with software. I do not think it is comcast, 68p works with the same frimware Merlin latest.

Have not tried that yet, but will. The only problem is my giga Connection may strain the router with hardware Acc disabled. Smart Connect is disabled, but I use wired mainly

This was to @hevaKmaI who tried to collect some data.....
If you want to try and help....

telnet/ssh

nvram set ipv6_debug=1
nvram commit

then reboot. If you could capture a syslog on both the 68P and 5300 with that set it may tell us something.

Sorry, I meant no references to IPv6 in my syslog.

what I'm looking for is odhcp6c, udhcpc and dhcp6s references....
also dnsmasq which handles router advertisements

I will try to get logs later tonight, famliy is using devices online now. I test 68p first for a day and then 5300 for a day.

It makes no sense at all. The IPv6 code is 100% identical regardless of the model.

My guess is it's an ISP-related issue, where it refuses to hand out a proper prefix when it gets the request from the non-working router's MAC.

Ipv4 works fine though, normally, Ipv4 and Ipv6 does not work if it is mac address binded, it is not bind the only way with Comcast a seprate router gets bind if it is supplied by comcast. I could even clone the mac addres of 68p just be sure

Here's the log on startup. I only see the start of a dhcp6 transaction, but nothing else. I'm on comcast and used to get IPv6 but I don't now. I've also swapped out my SB6183 with a Netgear CM600 modem and that did not fix the issue. I'm pretty certain it's the AC5300.

Note: I x'd out the ip addresses.

So I cloned asus 68p mac address on back of router to my 5300, reseted to factory defualts even tried reflashing the frimware and resting factory defualts trying to added log, but it will not let me
say it is blocking me

Okay so it did not work, then I just disabled ipv6 and renabled it and now it has the ipv6 addresses. Not sure how long it will last though or if it is buggy

Are you saying that cloning the mac address to the one from your AC68U is allowing it to get an IPv6 address?

yes for a mim then disappered, but it was not giving router ivp6 adress to my pc, so it was not working correctly anyways
