IPv6 on Time Warner / Native

Occasional Visitor
I tried to turn on IPv6 and icmpv6 (Ping), and UDP (NTP) seem to work. HOWEVER when I try to do anything TCP (imap/ssh/scp/http/https) it never seems to leave the RT-AC68U (Merlin 380.57).

I'd love to get this working.

any ideas?

3) GenToo Linux (not sure of version)
4) Mac OS X 10.11.3

So it's fairly consistent.
 
Should work, but sounds like there is a dependency on certain cable modems - if you're leasing a modem from them, it should just work if you're DOCSIS 3, but if you have your own, you might need to contact TWC's customer care to get a reprovisioning of the modem...

These are all pretty clean for IPv6, so again, I'm suspecting either the modem, or perhaps some setting in your router - I'm assuming you have IPv6 enabled there...

Weird in any event, as you're clients are all good, so again, suspecting the modem/TWC provisioning perhaps...
 
when I connect directly to the modem with the GenToo box, all works.
I've looked at ALL the settings, and this is with the IPv6 Firewall OFF.

so, what settings in the AsusWRT-Merlin (V380.57) could cause OUTBOUND TCP6 issues?

(I have a host at a colocated server connected via HE.NET tunnel to test with, and NONE of the TCP packets we sent made it out)
 
I recommend troubleshooting in the router first if it has a command line you can access.

On the router run the below commands and post the output. You might want to blank out the ending of any Public IP Addresses in the output unless you are confident in the router's firewall config.

I'm not sure why the other 4 are there.

Why do you have the forward ip6tables rules?

Another helpful command from the router is:
traceroute -6 ipv6.google.com
