Does anyone know if Asus routers, for example the AX88U, use the higher permitted TX power when using 5GHz channels 100+?

Usually, but it depends on the particular model and which region you're in. You need to check for yourself which is pretty easy using a WiFi analyser app. This is why I use channel 116/80.
