Is wireguard client on the AC86U possible?

Is the wireguard client available to use either natively or with wireguard? I have not updated the firmware since 386.13_2. The router and the mesh has been rock solid since but I feel the need to install the wireguard VPN certificates.

Hi All, I purchased the ASUS Router RT-BE86U from Amazon Germany. Will that have wireguard and is it a good router with merlin. I see its supported but not sure if it is better than the AX86u pro. Appreciate any help

Yes, Wireguard should be native on the BE86U.

For the RT-AC86U, have a look here, I believe yes is the answer.
An alternative is the Tailscale Addon.

It is better. Newer and upgraded hardware with 3006 base Asuswrt-Merlin available. RT-AX86U Pro is previous generation hardware and currently on 3004 base Asuswrt-Merlin. Newer also means longer expected support. You've made the right choice.
