New Around Here
Hi. I am trying to setup a VPN server in my ASUS ac88U.
I managed to run the VPN, connect from outiside fine.
I have this issue thought. My mobile softphones cannot connect to our VOIP call center with openVPN.
SIP account is registered fine but the recipient of the call cannot hear us and we cannot hear him also. Phone is ringing

What I tried to ASUS is this:

1. I forwarded 1194 port to 10.10.10.1 (vpn ip address)
2. I forwarded sip 5060,5061 both tcp and udp to VOIP local ip address
3. I forwarded rtp ports 10000:20000 again to VOIP local ip address
4. Setup NoIP dns for the vnp to connect with host(working fine)
5. Asus firewall is off

But I cannot fix that issue. The strange is that the issue happens only with softphones applications running in computers or mobile phones. And only through VPN. When I am in local network everything works fine.

Another strange is that voip telephone machines( like grandstream) which have vpn client, they connect in same vpn, with same configuration in asus and they work fine.

What am I am missing here guys? Any help please?

I can't make heads or tails of the OP's specific details here. They make no sense. For example, "I forwarded 1194 port to 10.10.10.1 (vpn ip address)". Huh? Port 1194 is presumably the port on which the OpenVPN server is listening for connection requests by remote OpenVPN clients, and 10.10.10.x is the private IP network established on the tunnel, which is created *after* the connection is established. So what does forwarding port 1194 to 10.10.10.1 mean? They have nothing to do w/ one another.

I'm not even sure what's being attempted here wrt VOIP. Is the smartphone accessing VOIP services inside the local network made accessible via the VPN?? (e.g., 192.168.1.x)? Or perhaps being routed back out the WAN of the OpenVPN server?

What would really help here is a diagram explaining what's what and the expected flow of traffic, since it's NOT clear (at least to me). It's all well and good to have details as to port (for example), but FIRST we need to understand the bigger picture. Why is OpenVPN even part of the configuration when it comes to VOIP?!

Thank you for the reply. Let me try to explain. Maybe I am wrong because I am not expert.

1.I forwarded 1194 port to vpn address because I thought that is the right for vpn. I see that it is wrong.
2. The smartphone access all voip services when it is and connected inside local network. I haven’t tried to enable vpn there to check. Do I need to do this and why please?
3. Why you say that OpenVPN not needed? Instead of giving my voip server a domain address and then need to be exposed to internet, I have it local and reach it from outside with VPN. Is this wrong please?

About the flow you are asking. Again I don’t understand you. You mean flow of vpn or flow of call?
