New Around Here
Hi there,
I use the last 378.55 firmware by Merlin on Asus RT-AC66U.
In the case I setup a load-balancing config for 2 ISP:
- ISP1 - Automatic IP
- ISP2 - L2TP
The config works well by time to time router losts L2TP connections and cant get BRAS.. On the log it looks like
-----
Sep 25 10:24:15 /usr/sbin/l2tpd[1095]: tunnel_establish: gethostbyname failed for 'tp.internet.beeline.ru'
Sep 25 10:24:25 /usr/sbin/l2tpd[1095]: tunnel_establish: gethostbyname failed for 'tp.internet.beeline.ru'
Sep 25 10:24:35 /usr/sbin/l2tpd[1095]: tunnel_establish: gethostbyname failed for 'tp.internet.beeline.ru'
Sep 25 10:24:45 /usr/sbin/l2tpd[1095]: tunnel_establish: gethostbyname failed for 'tp.internet.beeline.ru
-----
I reload router in the case and L2TP works well for 3-6 hours..
Do you have any ideas how can I get more info why this happens?

To Hell with Beeline's brain-dead architecture, quite frankly. Dealing with them has been a huge waste of time and resources.

My guess is their twisted VPN+DHCP architecture simply doesn't work with a dual wan setup, so there's nothing you can do about it.

Merlin,
Thnx for update.. I can move Beeline to DHCP as they started to work without VPN auth...
Could you help me with recommendations how to troubleshooting dual WAN?

Merlin,
I'd much appreciate your feedback about this idea

Will it work in case of dual WAN with static IP (DHCP with real IP)? I can buy VPS in AWS for example..
The reason why I asked.. I see permanent changing bandwidth on DownLink and UpLink for both ISP.
